Over 1,500 representatives of all circles in Peking held a rally on November 17th, to welcome Ma Ching-shan, former competitor of Taiwan at the Tokyo Olympic Games and Chen Chueh, a member of the Taiwan Olympic Study Mission.

Vice-Mayor Wu Han declares: The Chinese Communist Party and Government welcome all patriots in Taiwan, without discrimination as to when they join the ranks of patriots or what positions they hold. We welcome their return to the mainland and will give them awards and make suitable arrangements for them according to their merits, he says. Huang Chung, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Physical Culture and Sports Commission encourages the returned patriots to contribute to the cause of socialism by studying and working hard.

Speeches made by Ma Ching-shan and Chen Chueh expose the dark, reactionary US-Chiang Kai-shek rule on Taiwan. Both express the determination to devote their lifes to the cause of socialism.

A monetary award of 10,000 yuan was given to Ma Ching-shan and Chen Chueh, respectively, by Tsai Ting-kai, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Physical Culture and Sports Commission on behalf of the Chinese Physical Culture and Sports Commission.
