    THE SUDANESE FINANCE MINISTER, MR HAMZA MIRGHANI, TOLD THE CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY IN KHARTOUM ON THURSDAY THAT THE GOVERNMENT PLANNED TO ENCOURAGE SUDANESE TO CONTROL THE COUNTRY'S EXPORT MARKETS AND GRADUALLY TAKE OVER IMPORT FIRMS. MR MIRGHANI WAS PRESENTING A BUDGET TO PARLIAMENT COVERING THE 12 MONTHS FROM JULY LAST YEAR TO JUNE THIS YEAR.

    MR MIRGHANI SAID HE PLANS TO SET UP A COMMISSION TO LOOK INTO THE QUESTION OF THE "SUDANISATION" OF FOREIGN BANKS IN THE SUDAN. HIS BUDGET, WHICH HE DESCRIBED AS ANTI-INFLATIONARY, ESTIMATES EXPENDITURE AT GBP83,000,000 STERLING AND AN INCOME OF GBP79,000,000. PARLIAMENT IS EXPECTED TO DEBATE THE BUDGET OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.
