    THIS MOVE FOLLOWS THE LONDON ANNOUNCEMENT TO REINFORCE MALAYSIA BY THE TRANSFER TO THE FAR EAST OF TWO MORE BATTALIONS OF BRITISH TROOPS.

    THE FOUR HUNDRED MEN OF THE BATTALION WHO ARRIVED IN SINGAPORE FORM MALACCA WERE QUICKLY WHISKED AWAY BY WAITING BUSES AND TRUCKS TO THE DOCKYARD WHERE THEY BOARDED AT TROOP SHIP
    THE UNIT HAS BEEN IN MALAYA SINCE LAST SEPTEMBER UNDER-GOING TRAINING AT TERENDAK CAMP. ONE COMPANY HAS SEEN SERVICE ON THE MALAYAN-THAILAND BORDER, WHERE ABOUT FIVE-HUNDRED REMNANTS OF THE MALAYAN COMMUNIST PARTY STILL OPERATE.

    AS PART OF THE REINFORCEMENT, FOUR MINESWEEPERS ARE BEING TAKEN OUT OF RESERVE IN SINGAPORE TO REINFORCE THE PATROLS OFF WESTERN MALAYSIA.
