    At the start of his three-day official visit to Zaire President Nicolae Ceausescu of Rumania on Tuesday (March 21) visited Kinshasa, capital of the Republic.

    He was welcomed by Government Ndjoku Ey'Obraba of Kinshasa, who said the visit showed the desire of the two peoples for strong links between their countries.

    President Ceausescu thanked his hosts for their warm welcome, and said he looked forward to frank collaboration between the two countries. President Ceausescu signed the Distinguished Visitors' Book and later went on the Presidential Palace for talks with President Mobutu Sesa Seko. The Rumanian President is making a month-long tour of african and Arab countries.

    President Ceausescu was in Zaire on a three-day official visit as part of his month-long official visit as part of his month-long tour of African and arab countries.

    The people of Kinishase gave a warm welcome to the Rumanian leader, who was accompanied by Madame Ceausescu.

    Welcoming his guests to Kinshasa the Governor said the visit showed that the peoples of Rumania and Zaire wanted strong links between their countries.

    President Ceausescu thanked his hosts for their warm welcome, and said he looked forward to collaboration between the two countries. Governor Ndjoku invited his guest to sign the Distinguished Visitors' Book and offered the party a glass of champagne before they left for the Presidential Palace on Mount Ngalioma.

    The two Presidents met in private for forty-five minutes but no statement was released immediately following the talks.

    In addition to the leaders' discussions there were official talks between delegations from the two countries. They covered three general areas of study: economics, mining and foreign affairs. President Ceausescu was later scheduled to visit a new hydro-electric dam being built at Inga, in lower Zaire.
