Background: The Liberal Party and Democratic Party campaigns for the March 15 election are in the full swing in South Korea as the election date is coming up to only about one week ahead. This election will be 4th president and 5th vice president election in South Korea ever since the Korean government established after the World War two. President Rhee holds nation's highest Office for 12-year now and he is seeking for another term of 4 years. People believes Rhee will be easily re-elected as 4th President because of the Democratic Party candidate Dr. Chough died in the Walter Reed hospital on the 15 the February. Late Dr. Chough Pyong-ok was the only challenger against Rhee in this presidential election and Rhee now has no enemy and if he can get the one third of total votes he will be naturally re-elected and 4th president. As for the vice president, there are four candidates. One is the present vice president Dr. John M. Chang of Democratic Party, Mr. Lee Ki Poong, present Speaker of the House Liberal Party and the others are Mr. Kim Chun Yun and Miss Im Young Shin the only woman candidate. But most of the high lights are set on the Democratic and Liberal Party candidate, Mr. Lee and Dr. Chang. Observers view points are that Liberal will win in the country side and Democratic will win in the cities. Campaigns are going on rather smoothly up to date but opposition claims that there had been quite a numbers of disturbances Opposition democratic also campaigns for the re-election of 4th president for they lost their candidate Dr. Chough by stopping Rhee to get one third of total votes. It seems that most of the voters are tired of 12 years Liberal administration. Opposition democratic claims that if the election will be conducted in right manners, they will win in this election but this cameraman's personal view point is that Liberal will win in some how, no matter how much of popularity Democratic has. There are lots of rumours that liberals are planning various kind odd tricks to win, which seems no body can stop. The
result of the election be decided about noon time of the 16th.
