  • Description

More than 150,000 packed Minia, Upper Egypt, November 13, for an official visit by President Gamal Abdul Nasser.

Main point of his speech to the crowd was the meaning of Arab Nationalism. He said it did not mean the leadership of Abdul Nasser or any individual or group of individuals, and that he himself was only a soldier of Arab Nationalism.

"When we say that our Leadership will be unified we mean the leadership of honest people who have nothing in mind but the welfare of their country and their people," he said.

Speaking of recent crises, he said: "We expect other crises, and we shall face them with the same strength and the same confidence as we have done in the past."
The following day, during his return journey to Cairo, President Nasser spoke at Beni-Sweff.
