    At 1715 hours on Tuesday, 25 January, haggis on a silver salver, carried by a REA stewardess, will be piped aboard the Vanguard aircraft operating flight BE 5404 to Edinburgh.
    Piper Halliday of the 2nd. Battalion Scots Guards will be playing the bagpipes and Stewardess Jean Inglis from Motherwell, Lanarkshire, will be carrying the haggis.
    In Scotland, Con. John Percival of the City of Edinburgh Police and Con. Angus MacLelland of the City of Glasgow Police will be at Turnhouse and Renfrew Airports to pipe passengers on to and off aircraft.

    Background: BEA will be helping their passengers travelling between London and Scotland celebrate Burns Night tomorrow (Tuesday).

    On eight flights operating between London and Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, first-class passengers are to be served a special Burns Night Supper containing Haggis and whisky, pheasant, oatcakes and shortbread. In addition to their normal meal, tourist passengers will be presented with a gift-wrapped pack of shortbread and a miniature whisky.

    Pipers will be at London (Heathrow), Glasgow and Edinburgh airports to pipe passengers on to and off the BEA aircraft.

    The flights on which the special menu will be served and at which the pipers will feature are as follows:
    From London:
    BE 5404 to Edinburgh - take-off 1800 hours
    BE 5528 to Aberdeen - take-off 1920
    BE 5064 to Glasgow - take-off 1940
    BE 5410 to Edinburgh - take-off 2000
    From Edinburgh:
    BE 5401 to London - take-off 1725
    BE 5413 to London - take-off 2000
    From Glasgow:
    Be 5055 to London - take-off 1815
    BE 5059 to London - take-off 1900
