In what's believed to be the latest crackdown on Mafia suspects, Italian police have arrested another Sicilian. He's believed to have been arrested after information from mafia informer Tommaso Buscetta, whose cooperation with the authorities has led to more than three hundred people being detained. Buscetta is expected to be extradited to the USA. The former mafia chief has vowed to smash the Sicilian organisation crime network after losing an inter-clan power struggle. US authorities have asked for his extradition in order to interrogate him on the US side of the organisation's operations. Police have arrested two judges and a para-military police colonel during the past two months as Buscetta's information has filtered through.
