    THE IVORY COAST LEADER ARRIVED IN PARIS YESTERDAY AFTER CONVALESCING IN SWITZERLAND FROM A RECENT ILLNESS. TOMORROW HE WILL BE GUEST OF HONOUR AT A LUNCHEON GIVEN BY THE FRENCH PRESIDENT.

    AFTER TODAY'S TALKS, M. HOUPHOUET-BOIGNEY ANSWERED QUESTIONS PUT BY REPORTERS WAITING OUTSIDE THE ELYSEE PALACE. HE SAID THAT HE AND GENERAL DE GAULLE HAD DISCUSSED INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS.

    HE SAID HE WAS CONFIDENT THAT THE RHODESIA INDEPENCE CRISIS COULD BE HANDLED BY BRITAIN, AS FRANCE HAD HANDLED THE ALGERIAN PROBLEM. HE SAID THAT HE AND GENERAL DE GAULLE HAD NOT DISCUSSED THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN THE VIETNAM CONFLICT.
