    President Nicolae Ceausescu of Rumania visited the Sud-Aviation Assembly plant in Toulouse, on Wednesday (June 17), and inspected a Concorde under construction. He also saw a display by Alouette helicopters. The visit was part of a tour of French Industrial centres by Mr. Ceausescu.

    President Ceausescu is on a five-day visit to France for talk with President Georges Pompidou on economic, industrial and scientific cooperation. French officials said the two Presidents would discuss joint projects in Rumania, including a computer scheme, production of parts for the French Renault 12 car, and the assembly of French Alouette helicopters.

    At the Toulouse-Blagnac airfield, President Ceausescu and his wife, were shown around the Angol-French Supersonic Concorde by M. Turcat, the Sud-Aviation Flight Test director and test pilot for Concorde 001. The Concorde is built to carry 140 passengers at twice the speed of sound and is expected to go into service in 1973.

    President Ceausescu also saw a display by French Alouette helicopters, including manoeuvres by the Frelon and Alouette-III helicopters. Rumania is reported to be building about 50 Alouette-III helicopter under licence next year.

    It was announced on Wednesday (June 17) after the two Presidents had completed their third-round of talks, that France and Rumania have agreed to double their trade to Frs. 1,300m (about 100 million sterling) in the next five years.
