    Background: The Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi has been talking with French leaders about obtaining economic, technological and military aid. President Moi also discussed with the French Foreign Minister M. Louis de Guiringaud the promotion of peace and prosperity in Africa.

    SYNOPSIS: President Moi's visit is the first to France by a Kenyan head of state, and his first to the west. Reuters News Agency reports that the French Government expects the visit to lead to closer ties between France and Kenya. The main issue discussed between President Moi and M. de Guiringaud at these talks was the persistent conflict in Eritrea, and in the Ogaden desert region in the horn of Africa. After his talks with the French Foreign Minister President Moi confirmed the French interest in stability in Africa.
