Background: At the Abdin Palace in Cairo, the new Ambassadors of Ghana and Iran presented their credentials to President Anwar Sadat on Wednesday (27 January). In the case of Iran, diplomatic relations have been restored after a break of six years.
The new Ghanaian ambassador is Major-General Aferi. He replaces Mr. Alhaji Abu Wemah as his country's representative in Cairo.
The Iranian Ambassador is Mr. Khosrow Khosrovani. His opposite number, Mr. Muhammas Sami Anquar, the U.A.R.'s new representative in Teheran, presented his credentials earlier this month (3 January).
