TRANSCRIPT: CURT JOHNSON: REPORTER: "This small Minneapolis company and its staff of six people may revolutionise the combustion engine industry. They have produced the Sine Wave engine. Billed as more efficient. adaptable to all engine applications from outboard motor to locomotive diesel ... it has only three moving parts. Add to that impressive line-up, testing statistics which indicate the Since Wave engine will deliver greatly increased gas mileage ... plus, without any anti-pollution devices, the engine meets nineteen seventy-six pollution control levels. Bob Albertson and Walt Johnson developed the engine, and Bob explained all the pluses."

ALBERTSON: "We do not use a conventional crank shaft which other engines use. We use what we call our translator here, which is the part that fits in the engine right here.. We fire either one side or the other and the part right here which the crank and fits into is where the rotary motion of the engine comes off, which is transmitted to this particular one right here."

REPORTER: "The inventors say the Sine Wave engine can be a major step in reducing fuel consumption and engine problems for the consumer."

Background: A small engineering firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has developed a new engine which could revolutionise the motor industry. The engine ... produced by Bob Albertson and Walt Johnson at their Sine Wave Corporation factory ... has only three moving parts.

In addition, it's said to be more efficient and adaptable than the conventional engine. For instance, the Sine Wave can be adapted to fit almost anything ... from outboard motors to locomotives.

And for the fuel consumption conscious motorist, the engine gives greatly increased mileages. The Sine Wave is also within the 1976 pollution control legislation ... and that's without the addition of special anti-pollution devices.
