Background: Reinforced security detachments - some 1,000 strong - continued their intensive search in the Sligoville area, June 22, for terrorists who ambushed and killed two members of the Royal Hampshire Regiment and wounded two others, late June 21, at a camp of the marijuana-smoking Rastafarian sect.

Troops of the Royal Hampshires and the West India Regiment, in cooperation with the police, descended into a ravine after a local Jamaican - who had been forced to give food to the desperadoes - had indicated a cave where he believed they were hiding. A rocket fired into the cave was followed by an unsuccessful search by the soldiers.

One of two men arrested by police the same day was charged on June 24, but neither the man's name nor the substance of the charge have been disclosed. It is believed that the terrorist belong to the Rastafarian sect which campaigns for local negroes to be returned to Africa.

The authorities have published photographs of six of 10 coloured American citizens who were suspected of subversive activities. They include Raymond Henry, son of the Rev. Claudius Henry, founder of the African Reform Church and leader of the Rastafarian sect.

Jamaican Premier, Norman Manley, has been urged by Opposition Leader, Sir Alexander Bustamante, to take action against the Rastafarians.
