    West German Chanellor Konrad Adenauer and US President Eisenhower, met March 15 at the White House Washington: and jointly pledged to uphold the rights of all West Berliners to decide their own future in continued freedom.

    The two leaders publicly proclaimed this to be the foundation of their negotiation position for May's summit talks which will seek to determine the fate of Berlin.

    At the some time they said their governments would drive to unite East and West Germany into a single democratic nation.

    The meeting lasted one hour and 45 minutes.

    The 84yrs old Chanecellor told newsmen afterwards that he is now satisfied his Western Allies will stand firm in tho face of Soviet demands to pull out of West Berlin.
