    The United States Export-Import Bank is to lend the Ivory Coast 2,500,000 dollars (just over one million pounds sterling) to buy American agricultural equipment. The agreement, which was announced in June 1969, was signed in Abidjan on Friday, February 12th, between Ivorien Economics and Fiance Minister Konan Bedie and the Bank's President Henry Kearns. Also present at the signing ceremony, U.S. Ambassador to the Ivory Coast John Root.

    During the past eight years, the Export-Import Bank - a U.S. Government Corporation, has loaned 44 million dollars (18 million pounds sterling) to Government agencies of the Ivory Coast.
