  • Description

In Australia, demonstrators turned out in force on Hiroshima Day (6 August) to oppose the export of uranium. Ten people were attested in demonstrations throughout the country, but the biggest turn-ousts were in Sydney and Melbourne. The Australian Government has said it will negotiate adequate safeguards to ensure other countries do not misuse exported Australian uranium, but the anti-nuclear groups say they are not convinced. Barry Matherson of T.C.N.9 reports from Sydney and Tom Worland reports from G.T.V. 9 in Melbourne.
