Background: The 3rd conference of the Arab Gulf Ministers of Information began in Baghdad on Tuesday 7/2/78.
At the beginning of the meeting Sd./ Sa'ad-Qassim Hamoudi /, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Iraqi delegation delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Arab delegations and expressed confidence that the conference be a new stage in the series of contacts that began earlier. The Minister confirmed that Iraq was and has been more persistent to the principles of cooperation based on confidence and understanding as a formula for any serious work.
Afterwards, Sd./ Salim Al-Jaffi/ Assistant secretary general of the Arab League delivered a speech saving that the concept of a common informational work among the Arab Gulf countries is the outcome of a national need for the necessity of a common informational work within a strategy based on scientific principles.
The two day conference is to discuss several topics dealing with the informational cooperation among the Arab Gulf countries.
The conference is attended by delegations representing the seven Arab Gulf countries in-addition to Iraq besides two observers of the Arab League and the UNESCO.
