    THE 12TH WORLD CONFERENCE AGAINST ATOMIC HYDROGEN BOMBS OPENED IN TOKYO YESTERDAY (SATURDAY) ATTENDED BY DELEGATES FROM TWENTY COUNTRIES. REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND NORTH VIETNAM WERE REFUSED VISAS TO ATTEND BY THE JAPANESE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE.

    BEFORE THE PRELIMINARY SESSION, DELEGATES OBSERVED A PERIOD OF SILENCE IN MEMORY OF THE PEOPLE KILLED BY THE ATOMIC BOMBS DROPPED ON HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI IN THE LAST WAR. THEN THEY ADOPTED A RESOLUTION DEMANDING A COMPLETE BAN ON NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

    MEANWHILE IN TOKYO, TWO OTHER ANTI-NUCLEAR CONVENTIONS ARE BEING STAGED. ONE BY THE JAPANESE LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY, THE OTHER BY JAPAN'S SOCIALIST AND GENERAL FEDERATION OF LABOUR UNIONS.
