  • Description

Canada's largest radio telescope at White Lake Observatory, near Penticton, British Columbia was opened by the Minister of Mines and Technical surveys, Paul Comptois June 22. Scientists will now be able to observe radio-waves emitted in the milky-way. Dr.J.L.Locke is in charge of the installation which was built at a cost of close to seven-hundred-and-fifty-thousand-dollars.

A hundred-and-fifty guests listened to the sound of the planets from outer space. The main part of the installation is an eighty-four-foot dish antenna, which is likely to gain more information about outer space than unmanned satellites would do.
