    The world's oldest submarine built in 1850-51 by Wilhelm Bauer in Germany was rebuilt by apprentices of the "Neptun"-wharf in Rostock / Eastgermany.The old U-boat "Brandtaucher" of 35 tons was reconstructed during a time of 2 years by the apprentices and was given as a present to the Eastgerman "Deutsches Armee Museum" (German Army Museum) in Potsdam by wharf-director Kurt Dunkelmann.The diving boat sunk on its first diving test and was resurfaced after 37 years.It was built to destroy enemy ships with mines.Now the submarine is transported on the road from Rostock to Potsdam.
