    British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan and Lady Doro thy Macmillan arrived at Villacoublay airport near Paris, Mar 12, for a two-day visit to French President de Gaulle. They were met by Mr. Gladwin Jebb, British Ambassador in France.

    The Macmillans will be President de Gaulle's personal guests at the Chateau de Rambouillet, his country residence. This brief week-end visit is of strictly informal nature, and only one secretary accompanies Britain's Premier.

    Nevertheless, there is a good deal of speculation as to its purpose. Mr. Khrushchev in going to France Mar 15, and it is possible that British and French leaders want to exchange views on Franco-Russian relations. President de Gaulle might be interested in Mr. Macmillans experience negotiating with Mr. Khrushchev.

    But there are other topics which might be discussed in the next two days - French views on the "wind of change" in Africa, her atom bomb, European trade -Inner Six and Outer Seven, a joint Western policy for the forthcoming Summit Conference, and a policy for Geneva disarmament talks.

    Mr. Macmillan and President de Gaulle will be able to recapitulate on their discussions April 5, when the President pays a State visit to London.
