    A CEMETERY FOR MORE THAN 60,000 RUSSIAN SOLDIERS WAS CONSECRATED AT STUKENBROCK, NEAR DUSSELDORF TODAY (WEDNESDAY).

    THE CEMETERY, WHERE THE BODIES OF WORLD WAR II PRISONERS OF WAR ARE BURIED IN MASS GRAVES, HAS BEEN REMODELLED. A HUGE MEMORIAL -- LINKED CROSSES IN STONE -- DOMINATES THE AREA.

    AROUND THE MONUMENT ARE 788 GRAVES. ONLY 666 NAMES ARE KNOWN OF THE DEAD BURIED IN THIS CEMETERY, THE LARGEST SOVIET WAR CEMETERY IN WEST GERMANY.

    AMONG THE OFFICIALS AT TODAY'S CEREMONY WERE GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES, LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEADERS, AND MEMBERS OF THE RUSSIAN EMBASSY. THE SCHEDULE IS SCHEDULED TO BE VISITED BY MR. KHRUSHCHEV DURING HIS VISIT TO WEST GERMANY EARLY NEXT YEAR.
