    Chinese Communist Party Chairman Hua Kuo-feng left North Korea on Thursday (11 May) and returned to Peking after spending several days in the country. His visit was the first trip outside China by a party chairman since Chairman Mao Tse-tung went to Moscow more than ten years ago. On arrival in Peking, Chairman Hua described his visit as highly successful, and stressed the close relations the two countries shared.

    SYNOPSIS: In Peking, a large crowd gathered to greet their leader home after the historic visit, including the Chinese Vice-Premier Teng Hsiao-ping. An official announcement said that Chairman Hua will now have a few days' rest before greeting Rumanian President Nicolae Ceausescu, who is due to arrive in Peking on 15 May.
