INTRODUCTION King Khalid of Saudi Arabia, who's in a hospital in England for treatment to his leg, has been receiving a steady stream of high-ranking visitors -- including foreign heads of state and government envoys, British government ministers, and British royalty. The Saudi monarch is in Wellington Hospital in north London.

SYNOPSIS: Among callers on Thursday (March 4) was British Secretary of State for Defence Mr. Fred Mulley. Britain is one of the Arab nation's major arms suppliers, and Saudi Arabia in turn provides a large part of Britain's oil requirements. Saudi Arabia, together with the United Arab Emirates, is flaunting the recent ten per cent increase in oil prices by the rest of the members of OPEC, the organisation of Petroleum Export Countries. The two nations held their own price increases down to five per cent. British Premier Mr. James Callaghan has also called o king Khalid.

King Khalid came to power two years ago this month (March) on the death of 68-years-old king Faisal, who was assassinated by one of his nephews.

Kuwaiti Health Minister Abdel Awadi and member of Britain's Royal Family, Richard Duke of Gloucester, were among other visitors. The Saudi monarch, one of the more conservative and retiring of the Arab leaders, was seldom seen outside his kingdom before he took power. Precise details of his recent leg operations have not been released.
