    HE WAS COMPETING IN THE SECOND OF A FOUR-EVENT TOURNAMENT ORGANISED JOINTLY BY WEST GERMANY AND AUSTRIA. THE CONTEST BEGAN LAST SUNDAY (DECEMBER 28) AT OBERSDORF IN WEST GERMANY WITH GARI NAPALKOV OF THE SOVIET UNION WINNING.

    RASKA (NO.96) WON YESTERDAY WITH AN AGGREGATE OF 241.4 POINTS AND 92.5 AND 92 METRE LEAPS. RASKA IS THE REIGNING OLYMPIC CHAMPION AND AT OBERSDORF LAST SUNDAY CAME SEVENTH.

    SECOND AND THIRD IN THE GARMISCH EVENT WERE TWO SOVIET UNION SKIERS, ANATOLI SHEGLANOV (NO 78) AND VLADMIP BELOUSSOV (NO.100).

    SHWEGLANON GAINE 233.2 POINTS AND BELOUSSOV, A FORMER OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALLIST, HAD 230.2 POINTS.

    SKIIER NUMBER 41, IS FRANTISEK RYDVAL FROM CZECHOSLOVAKIA WHO WAS NOT PLACED.
