People have flipped over Niagara Falls in a barrel....they have crossed the Pacific in a raft...but no one has yet ventured across the Atlantic in a glorified gasoline tank. This is exactly what Albert Barth, Robert Frantz and Richard Nelisch propose to do at the end of this month.
The tank, called Diogenes, is loaded onto a freighter at Montreal, bound for St. John's Newfoundland. From there the trio will try to coast the Gulf Stream to Europe. They think it will take about two months - but they're not sure where they'll end up, or when. They have only a small said. What are they trying to prove? Nothing, they say.
