    The Ambassadors of South Korea and Thailand presented their credentials to President Houphouet-Boigny of the Ivory Coast at ceremonies in the Presidential Palace in Abidjan on Tuesday (August 25).

    The South Korean Enovy, Chul Nam, expressed his country's admiration for the way in which the Ivory Coast had achieved political stability and was moving towards economic independence under the guidance of M. Houphouet-Boigny.

    Replying, the President said there were many links between the two countries despite the distance between them.

    The new Ambassador of Thailand, Suwit Bowornwathana, who presented his credentials without making a speech, is a long-serving diplomat. He entered his country's Diplomatic Service in 1937 and has served in may countries. His present responsibilities extend to Liberia and Nigeria. He is based in Lagos.
