    President Jean-Bedel Bokassa of the Central African Republic flew to Athens from Tokyo on Saturday (8 August), for a day of talks with Greek Government officials. Greek Deputy Premier Stylianos Pattakos and other ministers of the Army-backed cabinet were at the airport to greet President Bokassa on arrival. President Bokassa had been to Japan for his country's national day at Expo 70.

    President Bokassa was accompanied by the Foreign Minister and five other members of his cabinet.

    President Bokassa was scheduled to hold a round of talks with Greek Under-Secretary of Foreign Affairs Christian Xanthopoulospalamas on Saturday night. Among the topics they reportedly discussed are economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

    President Bokassa was expected to fly to Rome on his way home on Sunday (9 August) morning.
