    Belgian cyclist Eddy Merckx (number one) led 131 cyclists into Forest in Brussels, on Friday (July 3) after they rode 73.9 miles (119 kilometres) through Belgium to complete the seventh stage of the 57th "Tour de France". 150 cyclists started out from Limoges, central France when the race began last Friday (June 26).

    The cyclists left Valenciennes, in France, at 9.15 A.M. and passed through Belgium customs 9.63 miles (15 Kms) along the route at 9.37. They arrived at Forest at one minute past noon.

    Eddy Merckx, 25-years old, is riding for the Driessens team and is favoured to win the marathon, scheduled to finish in Paris on July 19.
