MR. HALL: "We feel very relieved and well, just a terrific feeling."

REPORTER: "Mrs. Hall, why did you decide to adopt a Vietnamese baby?"

MRS. HALL: "Because it was a baby that needed a home. The fact that it was Vietnamese was immaterial to us. It was a baby that hasn't got a home and needs one."

    REPORTER: "How old is he?"

MRS. HALL: "He's nearly seven months."

REPORTER: "What do you know about him? Is he in fact a war orphan? Is he one of those babies we've seen on the screens recently?"

MRS. HALL: "His mother has been lost because she then abandoned him and we couldn't contact her or find her so we know that he hasn't a family because she walked out on everything..."

REPORTER: "Can I ask you a very difficult question. You say that his mother couldn't in fact be traced. If she was traced and wanted the boy back what would you do?"

    MRS. HALL: "I don't know. I haven't considered it. I don't know."

MR. HALL: "It's a very difficult question you know, we should have to think about that."

REPORTER: "How long have you in fact been waiting to adopt a Vietnamese baby?"

MRS. HALL: "Three years; with this particular child negotiations started last November."

REPORTER: "Had you misgivings about taking a baby away from a very different society to England?"

    MRS. HALL: "No."

    MR. HALL: "None at all."

MRS. HALL: "A lot of people say we're taking him away from his culture, but his culture is living in an orphanage. Well, with the little life he'd had, we're only glad we're able to take him away from that and give him a little love."
