Background: VISNEWS Cameraman LOUIS GIMINEZ has recently visited Guinea Bissau where self proclaimed freedom fighters are carrying on a guerrilla war against Portuguese authority. With the co-operation of the guerrillas he was able to film various aspects of their campaign against the Portuguese.

This film shows life in a village in an area that the guerrillas claim to control. Sometimes, Portuguese aircraft fly overhead, and the inhabitants flee into the jungle until it is safe to return. Guerrilla troops inspect the village to make sure everyone has gone.

The guerrillas claim the villagers are on their side and the local populations seem to support and help the guerrilla troops.
