  • Description

One thousand West German Anti-nuclear warfare demonstrators converged on the NATO training establishment at Bergen-Hohne, Easter Monday, Apr 18, for a mass protest against the H-bomb after completing a four-day march in separate groups from Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover and Brunswick.

No incidents were reported as the demonstrators - many of them women and children - had marched towards Bergen-Hohne carrying banners and slogans reading: "First Bergen-Belsen now Bergen-Hohne "Training with Atomic Weapons means training for Mass Murder" and "He who uses Atom-bomb will perish by Atom-bomb." Marchers distributed leaflets as they moved along the streets.

A British delegation participated in the rally outside the NATO building.
