    Wednesday's (6 May) session of the Paris Peace Talks on the war in Vietnam was cancelled by the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese because of President Nixon's use of American troops in Cambodia and renewed bombing strikes against North Vietnam.

    The cancellation was the first in the two-year history of the talks and plunged the peace negotiations into their biggest crisis.

    But only the day's session was called off and there are no indications of a permanent rupture in the talks.

    M. Lee Van Sau, a Viet Cong spokesman, spoke to newsmen about the cancellation:
