Background: A unique idea in station wagons was announced today by Oldsmobile -- the most dramatic design change since wagons were introduced many years ago.

SYNOPSIS: The new Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser features a raised dome area with tinted windows.....It also offers a forward facing rear seat on all "three-seat" models.

Even when the third seat is used there's plenty of storage space ..... When lots of cargo room is needed, the seat folds down to allow over 100 cubic feet -- more than in most station wagons.

A 120-inch wheelbase chassis ..... added interior space and unusual vista roof styling gives passengers an exciting new riding experience.

Powering the Vista Cruiser is Oldsmobile's new 230 Jetfire Rocket V-8 engine which operates on regular grade gasolines. For even greater performance, the Cutlass 290 horsepower engine is also available.
