    Some 40 specialists from French-speaking countries began two seminars on Friday (20 November) in Dakar on production and distribution problems of books and films in the French-speaking world. A number of speakers participated in the opening session, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Senegalese capital.

    Among the speakers was Minister of Information and Culture, M. Alioune Sene. M. Jeans-Mare Leger, Secretary-General of the Cultural and Technical Cooperation Agency, which organised the seminars, also spoke on Friday.

    In this statement, M.Leger said the seminars would enable each French-speaking nation to learn more of the works produced by other such countries and would lead to a greater degree of cultural equality among them.

    The seminars are to continue until Tuesday (24 November).
