IN ONE OF THE COUNTRY'S WORST RAILWAY ACCIDENTS ABOUT 70 OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED, ACCORDING TO THE SOUTH KOREAN NATIONAL RAILWAY OFFICE.

    RAILWAY OFFICIALS SAID THAT HEAVY SNOW WAS FALLING WHEN A SEOUL-BOUND EXPRESS FROM PUSAN CITY SMASHED INTO THE REAR OF A PASSENGER TRAIN WAITING AT A STOP SIGNAL.

    THE LAST COACH OF THE STATIONARY TRAIN WAS CRUSHED IN THE IMPACT.

    RAILWAY OFFICIALS SAID THE DRIVER OF THE EXPRESS APPARENTLY FAILED TO SEE THE STATIONARY TRAIN BECAUSE OF THE LOW VISIBILITY.
