    MR. J.W.K. HARLLEY, VICE-CHAIRMAN OF GHANA'S NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL AND INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE, WAS THE CHIEF GUEST AT TWO IMPORTANT OCCASIONS LAST WEEK. ON JANUARY 6TH. AT THE BORDER GUARD DEPOT AT WINNEBA, MR. HARLLEY REVIEWED A PLATOON OF GUARDS AT A PASSING OUT PARADE. TWO DAYS LATER HE ADDRESSED POLICE CADETS IN ACCRA WHEN OFFICIALLY OPENING THE TENTH OFFICER CADET COURSE AT THE GHANA POLICE COLLEGE.

    ON BOTH OCCASIONS MR. HARLLEY WAS ACCOMPANIED BY NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL MEMBER AND COMMISSIONER OF POLICE (ADMINISTRATION) MR. J.L. NUNOO.

    WHEN HE ARRIVED AT THE BORDER GUARDS DEPOT, MR. HARLLEY WAS WELCOMED BY THE ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER OF POLICE AND COMMANDER OF THE BORDER GUARD, MR. J.S. ESSANDOH.

    FORTY-FOUR RECRUITS, INCLUDING SIX WOMEN, HAD COMPLETED 12 MONTHS TRAINING IN THE SERVICE, WHICH IS NOW A WING OF THE POLICE SERVICE. THE DISTINCTION OF BEING THE BEST RECRUIT FELL TO ONE OF THE WOMEN ON THE COURSE, MISS REGINA AGNES LIGGE. SHE WAS PRESENTED WITH THE BATON OF HONOUR BY MR. HARLLEY, WHO ALSO TOOK THE SALUTE.

    AT THE ACCRA POLICE COLLEGE, MR. HARLLEY WAS GREETED BY THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, MR. SANNIEZ, AND THE COMMANDER OF THE COLLEGE, MR. PRYCE YEBESI.

    OPENING THE SIX MONTH COURSE, MR. HARLLEY CALLED FOR DISCIPLINE, HONESTY AND INTEGRITY FROM THE CADETS. THE ENTRY FOR THE TENTH TRAINING COURSE INCLUDED NINE GRADUATES IN A TOTAL OF 51.
