    The Duke of Edinburgh, October 21, met American comedian Danny Kaye at the Plaza Theatre, Leicester Square, London. The occasion: London Premiere of Danny Kay's new film "The Five Pennies." Danny - accompanied by his wife - presented Prince Philip with a record of the film's sound track. It was a gift for Prince Charles.

    It is the story of U.S. jazz trumpeter Red Nickels, played by Danny Kaye. Barbara Bel Geddes plays Red Nickels' wife, and Louis Armstrong gives added life and vigour to the story.

    Last night's premiere was given in aid of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and the Variety Club's Cancer Research for Children fund.
