Two Kenyans in a works Porsche, car number 14, eventually came in second. Vic Preston Junior and John Lyall were the drivers. The defending champions, Waldegaard and Horszelius of Sweden were fourth in another works Porsche.

Aaltonen and Drews, still managed to take third place, and they're already looking forward to their next rally-in Greece.

No works team managed to get three cars home to claim the manufacturers' prize. This year's rally the 26th, has been particularly hard hit by heavy rain, and much of the 5,000 kilometre (3,000 mile) course has been under water.
