Three Moslem Heads of State -- King Hussein of Jordan. Sudanese President Nimeiry and President Anwar Sadat of Egypt -- met in Alexandria on Friday (5 April). Both King Hussein and President Nimeiry are on official visits to Egypt.
On Friday, King Hussain and President Sadat began format talks in Alexandria to resolve the different views the two countries hold on the status of Palestinians in future peace talks with Israel.
Egypt, in common with other Arab States, regard the Palestine Liberation Organisation (P.L.O.) as the sole representative of the Palestinians. On Saturday (6 April), the semi-official ??? newspaper, Al Ahram, reported that Jordan may recognise the Palestine Liberation Organisation as the sole representative of the Palestinian people within the next few days. The newspaper added that President Sadat and King Hussein were expected to conclude their talks in Alexandria with positive results".
