    WHEN THE CENTRE BLOCK OF PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS WERE REBUILT AFTER A FIRE IN 1916 THE ARCHITECTS LEFT A NUMBER OF BLOCKS OF STONE IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING FOR FUTURE SCULPTORS TO WORK ON. EVEN TODAY DOZENS OF THESE BLOCKS HAVE NOT BEEN TOUCHED - DESPITE THE WORK OF MANY SCULPTORS OVER THE PAST FORTY-FIVE YEARS.
