    THE CALL CAME AT THE SAME TIME THAT TWO SENIOR RHODESIAN MINISTERS ARRIVED IN BRITAIN, REPORTEDLY TO DISCUSS THE REORGANISATION OF THE RHODESIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER'S OFFICE. THEY ARE MR. WILLIAM HARPER AND MR. JOHN WRATHALL.

    THE BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER TO RHODESIA, MR. JOHN JOHNSTON, MEANWHILE, FLEW TO BLACKPOOL TODAY, WHERE THE LABOUR PARTY IS HOLDING ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE, TO REPORT ON THE SITUATION TO THE COMMONWEALTH SECRETARY; MR. BOTTOMLEY.

    IN AN INTERVIEW LATER MR. BOTTOMLEY WAS ASKED ABOUT THE VISIT OF THE TWO MINISTERS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF A VISIT TO BRITAIN NEXT WEEK BY THE RHODESIAN PRIME MINISTER, MR. SMITH. HE SAID THAT HE BELIEVED THE TIME HAD ARRIVED WHEN THERE SHOULD BE DISCUSSIONS AT MINISTERIAL LEVEL, AND HE HAD CONSIDERED GOING HIMSELF TO RHODESIA TO MEET MR. SMITH.
