Wong Hsiao-feng from Hopei Province breaks the previous national record of 2 minutes 13.6 seconds with her 2 minutes 13.4 seconds.
In the women's high jump, 20 year old Wu Fu-shuan of Peking walk off with the first place in 1.71M.

Ni Chin-chin from Pukien Province wins first place, with 2.10 although in a previous contest he topped 2.20M.
Ho Yung-shian of the People's Liberation Army wins the men's shot-put.
In the pole vault, 21 year old Hu Chu-yung from Shanghai wins first place by topping 4.50M.
