The Singapore Prime Minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, who is on a three-week visit to the United States, met U.S. Defence Secretary Elliot Richardson on Wednesday (4 April) for talks at the Pentagon in Washington.
Mr. Lee arrived on Tuesday for a series of meetings with senior Administration officials. Talks were expected to cover Asian defence and economic issues, following the U.S. withdrawal from South Vietnam.
He will also meet Secretary of State, William Rogers, and Vice-President Spiro Agnew. It is not certain if the Singapore Prime Minister will meet President Nixon during his visit. His itinerary includes discussions with U.S. industrialists and giving lectures at two universities, in Florida and Pennsylvania.
