    THE ONLY NON-GHANAIANS TO REACH SUNDAY'S FINALS WERE THE NIGERIAN MEN'S AND WOMEN'S DOUBLES TEAMS. BUT GHANA'S SAMUEL HAMMOND AND EMMANUEL QUAYE BEAT PHILIP SANTOS AND WAIDI DAWODU 12-21, 21-17, 21-19, 24-22, IN THE CLOSEST MATCH OF THE TOURNAMENT TO WIN THE MEN'S DOUBLES.

    IN THE WOMEN'S DOUBLES, GHANA'S ETHEL JACKS AND ERNESTINA AKUETEH OUTCLASSED BILIKISU POPOOLA AND DUPE BEYIOKU 21-8, 21-13, 21-8.

    LAST YEAR NIGERIA WON THE TEAM TITLE, BUT GHANA TOOK THE MAJORITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL TITLES.
