    King Hussein of Jordan has sent two envoys to Iraq to prepare for the Arab summit in Baghdad next month on the Middle East peace developments. The envoys are expected to have talks with Iraqi President Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr on ways of working out a joint Arab stand. Meanwhile, the United States in reportedly still awaiting King Hussein's decision on joining the Middle East peace talks with egypt and Israel.

    SYNOPSIS: At the Royal Palace near Amman this week, Mr. harold Sunaders, the United States Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern and Asian Affairs, met King Hussein for two days of talks (October 16 and 17).

    The American briefed the Jordanian leader on the U.S. attitude to a possible Middle East peace settlement, and reportedly carried official American replies to Jordan's questions on the Palestinian role in the settlement. King Hussein has expressed concern, to about the peace of Israeli withdrawal from occupied territories. Mr. Saunders is also visiting Syria and Saudi Arabia.
