COMMENTATORS: "The two Fords are going for a bit of slip-streaming and you'll notice both of them are about ready to attack Allan Grice here on the outside, half-way down Control Straight. Moffatt falls out, takes him on the outside, we'll wait and see if whether Grice can try and race him into the Braking area. He'll take Bond with him, though, Mike. Bond is moving into second place and that'll drive the Ford fans crazy with excitement.
Here they come, but Grice is going to fight back on the inside of Colin Bond. Bond continues on, he's going very hard down the outside - some team tactics here - from Moffatt and Colin Bond - effectively letting Bond through for the lead, and that was a very good manoeuvre. Bond will now lead them. Fans down here in Pit Straight are going to go wild with enthusiasm. Japanese driver Yoshima Katayama had a lucky escape when he rolled his Mazda at the bottom of Control Straight. Oh, cars have gone down the escape road again, fell into the sand trap. Goodness gracious me, Katayama flipping the car side over side at the end of Control Straight, so he's had it, big problem a very dramatic end to the race for the little Japanese driver Katayama who's being consoled there by a couple of well-wishers. Down the straight they go, Car 1, Car 2. An absolute demonstration of the crushing victory to Ford here and the Allan Moffatt team. Moffatt in car one, Colin Bond in car two for the last time they come down and that magnificent view from the Seven helicopter. He's going to have trouble here braking here to let Moffatt through, now he does, and Moffatt from the outside will sweep around and take the chequered flag first for victory in the 1977 Hardie-Ferodo 1,000."
