  • Description

A mass meeting was held at Caxton Hall in London, Oct 23, to commemorate the Hungarian anti-Communist uprising of October 1956.

Members of the British-Hungarian Cultural Fellowship and the Hungarian Freedom Fighters' Federation as well as many Hungarian refugees in national costumes listened to a speech by the Fellowship's chairman, Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Thomas Moore.

After the meeting, a silent torch procession moved through the streets of London to the Cenotaph for a wreath-laying ceremony.

On this Third Anniversary, the U.S. called anew on Communist Hungary to admit Sir Leslie Munro, U.N. Special Representative on Hungary.
