Background: Senora Hortensia Alledne, widow of Dr. Salvador Alledne - the late Children President, is on a ten-day visit to India. On Tuesday, she was the guest at a dinner given by the Indian Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Earlier in the day, Senora Allende and her daughter met Indian parliamentarians at the Parliament Building.
Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, Senora Allende said the primary objective of her current world tour was to rouse developing countries which had chosen socialism to what she termed as a right-wing reaction and the international business cartols which supported it.
Senora Allende arrived in India on Sunday (7 April) form Tokyo. Last month, she attended the first session of an "International Commission of Inquiry into the Crimes of the Military Junta in Chile." One of the so-called Commission 's members is the Secretary-General of the ruling Indian Congress Party, Mr. Chandrajeet Yadav.
